O.K. Lately I have been having problems with my grill and turkey fryer. When I attach a new tank it doesn't like to engage the valve right. Sometimes I can get it to work but tonight I could not. It is about 45 F outside so I don't think that is the problem. Has anyone ever heard of this or am I loosing it.

twgreen3, Is your regulator pigtail a POL or ACME/QCC connection to the tank?
See http://www.mantank.com/safety/hints.htm and http://www.rvbasics.com/techtips/rv-propane-tank-valves.html for an overview.
If a POL then a wrench is suggested along with a leak check.
If an ACME or QCC then simple manual threading and tightening should work.
Here is how to do a leak check: http://www.wmoem.org/FirePrevention/LPGsafety.htm
Here are parts and adapters that can be ordered (and valve diagrams): http://gas-light-4u.safeshopper.com/7/cat7.htm?56
