Does anyone know this grill brand? They have a limited website and it looks like their grills are ok. However, I have concerns specifically about even heat.

Thoughts?

Certainly looks nice. I'd like to see the features for 2006/7 though :)

Well, I bought one. It looks great.

Maybe I am just spoiled but my Weber Silver Summit Series has served me VERY well and with no flaws in performance (so why a new grill?? I know, I know--but the Weber is aging and lacks some features of the new one like rear burner/rotisserie). This one looked very promising but appears to have a problem in heat distribution.

The hoods that cover the burners (to protect from flare up) are like 8 inches across. Versus like 2.5 or 3 for the Weber and almost everything else out there. At first, I didn't really think anything of it. But I've noticed that the Sterling Forge seems to be MUCH MUCH hotter between those covers (they're called FLAVORIZERS by the dealer) and somewhat cooler directly above the burner. Such that, if you placed a long ear of corn over the burner (perpendicular), both ends of the ear would scorch or burn before the middle was cooked.

I don't think they are easy to swap out but I don't think they are. I wrote the manufacturer and email last week. No response. The dealer thinks I am crazy and of course, won't take the grill back.

I have since found out that this is a grill made by the same company making grills for Costco and others. It's a Chinese outfit called Nexgrill or something like that. Reviews on those have been mixed with some pros calling some doubts but owners hyping them up.

I am still unconvinced. I know I can learn to work with the limitations of this grill. I am just not excited about having to do so. And am actually contemplating selling it and getting something along the lines of DCS, Thermador or Viking. Expensive, yes. But hopefully the features AND performance I want.

That grill does look nice, however I do really like the Weber Silver Summit. This grill is so well known that it would be easy to go with it. I personally tend to stick with what I know works. That's my 2 cents for what it's worth LOL
