I'm replacing and relocating a gas line out to my patio. The distance from my house is approx 25'. I plan on using soft copper. The Weber website says to use 5/8" OD and the gas grill dealer says 1/2" is fine. The old one was only 3/8". Any recommendations? Is 5/8" and its extra cost overkill? Grill is a Weber Summit D4.

Thanks.

I found a website that allowed me to determine that the 5/8 pipe is the way to go. Here is a link. The weber will use 40K BTU's. 30 feet of 1/2" pipe will only deliver 23K BTU's and the 5/8 will deliver 47k BTU's.
