I finally bit the bullet and bought a Weber Platinum B Series....and I lurve it!
I put it off long enough, but only after trying to go with a Sears 3 burner, that had a stainless, box with a funky porcelain grill grates/plates that were less than desireable when looking it over.
I should of had the sense to pass on it, but decided that it was worth a whirl....bad idea! Upon first use we noticed a crunchy-ness to our hamburgers... didn't think too much about it until the next time we tried some good Rib Eyes, and they were really crunchy...got to looking at the grill and HOLY SMOKES there were whole flakes of porcelain coming off that was adding unwanted ruffage to our meals
We went back to Sears, and was given the run around, then they finally said we could try another style grate that was on another model, but we'd have to buy them....I think not! Packed up that piece'o junk and brought it back the next day, but not with out a $20 buck restocking fee tagged on to the return!! I was steamed!
That was the defining moment that we decided 'nuff with this monkey bid'ness, and went to a local well know Hardware store that had darn near every make, and model of Webers!
I think we got a good deal for it. Our first intent was the Gold C Series but I kept looking at the all stainless that was only $50 more...and went for it for a grand total of $700.00.....I'm very happy with it. Wished I'd of listened to y'all sooner!
Just bragging,
Mingo
