Like me, I'm sure many of you have the rectangular head brass bristle brush. Sure can be time-consuming to get in between all those bars (when you're in a hurry).

Last night, I found this. Looks pretty new. I'm wondering if anyone has used it yet. I have a Weber Genesis Silver B with upgraded SS grates.

I have one. They are good for cleaning between the grates, but they don't clean the top as well as the regular brush. I use a regular brush first, then use the T-brush to get the stuff between the bars on my grates....

Big guy--
Is this T-brush sturdy? Also, the design looks odd to me-- Does the wide bristle area go perpendicular to the grate bars (i.e. cleans between several bars at once?)-- That's what the design looks like it would do. Or does the bristle area run lengthwise in between each bar?-- Seems like you'd have to bend the handle to get it to do this, but it would clean better this way (more bristle-to-surface contact)

Yep, that's it. If you click on the link in my original post, you'll find the 21" version for $7.99 at amazon.

To me, it would seem like the bristles should run lengthwise between the grate rods, but the handle makes it look like the wide bristle area runs perpendicular to the grate rods. I'd almost rather see like an L-shaped handle on this.

Now how did I miss that? Odd, but I can't find it on the Weber site...

You have to turn it sidways to brush between bars on the grate. You can clean the tops of several grates at the same time if you use the wide part, but in my opinion, it doesn't clean as well as the standard brass brush. This tool is OK, but not that great, IMHO.

I got it now. I saw this brush at Target last night and it's much bigger than I imagined from the internet pics.... hence my confusion about how it worked. Now that I've seen it, I'm going to order one. Seems like it's very well made-- and the bristles are very rigid. I look at it this way.... the time I'll save from scraping the grill can be better spent drinking another beer.

Let us know how you like it. I too saw it at Target and didn't even look twice at it!

I'm reporting back now that I've used the Weber T-brush a few times. You guys need to bust out the $8-10 and get this thing. I recommend the 21" version. The brass bristles are very rigid and the design is perfect for getting in between the grate rods with one easy swoop.... it's wide enough to simultaneously hit both grate rods with a good amount of force. Turn it horizontally, and the tops of your grate rods will be clean in about 5-10 seconds. And you know what that means..... more time for drinking beer.
