OK, I thought I was all set to buy a Weber Summit Platinum D6, and then I happened to stop by BBQ Galore and took a look at their Grand Turbo grill. Next, I started reading ConsumerReports and grilling formus. Now my head is spinning and I don't know what grill to get...

Anyone have any experience with the BBQ Galore grill? Is it pretty much the same as the Costco Grand Classic? I've never heard a bad thing about any Weber, but the salesman at BBQ Galore claims it doesn't put out enough heat for a good sear. Any other grills of similar size and price I should consider? (I'm looking for 5 or more burners, SS, rotisserie and smoker pan.)

So, what advice do you all have for me? I eagerly await your input.

Get the Weber. You ever heard anyone say they were sorry they bought a Weber?

LMAO! While it may be plausible for a Genesis, I don't think it's true for the Summit, especially the 6-burner. While BBQ Galore boasts more power, it's overkill, unless you like eating charcoal. Their grills warn against cooking with the lid down at max for too long as it will melt the cover. Could you imagine dumping that type of money on a grill that could kill itself during preheat?

I agree with snaps...

My 3 burner Genesis gets hot enough for a decent sear... but the Summit 6 burner should have no problem whatsoever!

I know of a few people that own Summits and they have absolutely no problems getting a good sear. The Summit has more than enough heat. Get the Weber. Customer service and satisfaction is outstanding!

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning hard toward the Weber, but in the meantime I've kept looking and am now also considering:

- Napoleon Continental
- Cal Flame CR4000
- Tuscany Elite

Any of these knock the Weber off the top perch?
