I went to Publix tonight and I bought 2 beautiful Ribeyes, sweet potatos, corn on the cob and some other things to make a nice cucumber salsa.

Saturday will be a good day!

I also bought 2 Porterhouse T-bones that were on sale. I'm saving them for a special occasion - Perhaps when my son is born!

You know something I've noticed since I've moved to Rhode Island, you can't find good quality meat in the grocery stores. When we were in Ft.Lauderdale, a trip to Publix could yield some quality beef, I miss those days.

Now I need to shop at Whole Foods or Dave's Marketplace (a little local market) when I want quality beef and spend $11/lb+ for any good cut (Strips, T-Bones, etc)

Sure. I will be trying it for the first time tomorrow, but it looks good! I am thinking of adding some fresh grilled corn to it.

Cucumber relish/Salsa

Ingredients:
1/4 seedless cucumber
1/4 red onion
1 tomato
2 tbls small capers
1 tbls chopped fresh dill
2 tsps cinegar
1 lemon, zested
1 tbls olive oil
salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:
Small dice the cucumber, onion and flesh of the tomato. mix with remaining ingredients and season to taste.

I love Whole Foods Market. I wish we had one here. We have Fresh Market which is similar, but a little smaller. You have to pay for the good meat!

Swamp smoker -
Sounds like fun, I wish I was there! I'll throw one on the grill in your honor!

So last night I marinated some top sirloins in olive oil, and some salt, pepper, garlic powder, etc.. basic seasoning. Tossed 'em on a nice hot gas fire, for maybe 4 or so minutes on each side, and sliced them on the bias. Taste and texture was JUST like flank steak. Most amazing thing I've ever done on the grill, and I just pray I can replicate it. :mouthwate

Nice!

It's been raining here so I was trying to wait it out.
I'm about to go light the fire and prep the rest of the food!

OK.. Grilled Ribeye with fire roasted corn and cucumber salsa, and mixed greens salad.

One hell of a dinner!

hey xdcdave,
if you are near westerly there is a real good meat packing place that has awesome meat. It is about 1.5 hours added to my ride home but well worth it for some good meat.

Well thats about an hour away, but may be worth the drive if its that good. Do you recall the name of it?

I went to Chartly's meat market (in Rehoboth, MA) a few days ago and bought a small meat package. Seems like good quility stuff so far, the top sirlion was nice on the grill with my olive oil marinade.
