I'd like to hear some of those "the one that got away stories!" I heard a few this weekend and loved em!
I do most of my fishing at Pappadeaux's :mouthwate Seafood. I've never had one get away. In fact, on lobster :mouthwate night, I ate 12 :mouthwate . That ain't too shabby for $29.95. :mouthwate

Hey 1044! Are you sure they weren't crawdads? :D *only kidding*
The only time I catch any fish is out on a boat; a deep sea boat that is, and they're expensive! I devouted an entire summer freshwater fishing and all I could catch were bluegills.

Hey 1044,
Is Pappadeaux's on the itinerary for QFest II? Could you imagine the look on their faces if the whole QFest bunch showed up? :D

I'll be on the lookout... Any particular day for Lobster Night? I'm sure Mac will be interested in this also.
When they have it, it will be on Wednesday night. However, right now it's itty bitty lobsters :mouthwate . It's crawfish time! :mouthwate

I fish mostly freshwater, since I'm about 4 hours from the ocean. I get out about every other weekend during the summer. I try to do salt water when I can, about 3 times a year.
A couple years ago I went to Orlando with my wife. She was on a business trip, so I could sneak away (she actually knew though) and do some fishing. I hired a guide to take me out fishing for giant Redfish out near Cape Canaveral. I had never fished for reds, or even saw one alive other than at the Baltimore Aquarium. The guy was a typical guide. He thought he was the sh**. He did know how to find the fish though. We were fishing in 2 feet of water. We literally stalked them for hours and they would move everytime we got within casting distance. Finally we were able to get up behind them and I made my cast. All of a sudden the line was tight and the fish pulled like mad. After a good 20 minute fight I landed a 35 lb. red. We took some pictures and the guide told me that was a "red of a lifetime" and I'll probably never catch another that size in shallow water. After we released the fish we caught up to the small school again and I made another cast....BOOM! another hit! The lined screamed off the reel again. When I had the fish in about half way the guide's eyes got real big. It was the twin of the last one! I landed another 35 pounder. After that the guide said he wanted to try another spot. What? You want to leave this area? He took me out to a totally different area and we didn't even see a tail. Before I knew it was time to go in. I think he figured I caught more than my share and wanted to get me away from the fish ;-)

Matt's post reminded me when I was fishing off Cape Canaveral going after sea bass. Almost every fish I caught I hooked it anywhere but its mouth. On its back, on its belly, etc. I guess I kept running them down or something, but it was pretty funny.
