Do alot of hunting & have used the Orion cooker with favorable (or should I say flavorable) results. It says it would cook a 20 lb turkey in a couple of hours, I tried one an hour longer and it was falling off the bone. Still moist and tasty though. Have had great success with mule deer roasts, loins, etc.
On birds (ducks, geese, turkey) there is a bit of a mess to get rid of the rendered fat but it is all contained and not that big of a deal.
As a novice our guests have all thought I knew what I was doing. One of which was my first attempt. So we love it and use it often.
My wife and I have started using them as our standard wedding gift.

I agree with gas_coal too... Low and slow. Cooking it fast seems like using a microwave to cook your meals. Plus a smoker running all day long sure makes you ready to eat come dinner time!
All that matters is the end result-----low and slow etc. What you are looking for is fall off of the bone moist tender meat. 6-8 hours compared to 2 and the same result----I think I will take the 2 hours.
The Orion Cooker will be featured on the CBS Early Show June 28th around 8:30 est.

yeah. that's what I was thinking. I don't mind someone promoing their product, but they need to contribute to the board or contact me about an advertising opportunity.
In some cases people have sent me one of their product to try and I happily write a review.
While we don't have tons of daily posts, we do get about 350 unique visitors daily:-)

According to the stats on the main forum page, we once had 194 visitors on at one time... that's amazing!

I spoke with Fitz on the phone the other day. He's a nice guy, and is actually the owner/developer of Orion cooker/Gobbler grill.
He's going to send me out one and I will post my reviews here. I am thinking we should have that local get together we are always talking about StPete!?!?!?!
He will be on the CBS morning show tomorrow, I wish him luck!

I'm thinkin' maybe he should send out at least 2... :)
Yeah, we need to get together one of these days... maybe after the summer. I hate cookin' out in the friggin' heat down here in the summer.
When we do have a cookout, I've got that new EZ-Que Rotisserie Hobo model. It's portable and has a battery powered motor, so we can rotiss' a couple of yardbirds for something different...
