and what a great day it is. Momma is doing fine and the baby is already to cook. Oh, I guess I should mention that it is a weber baby q. :)

I needed to upgrade my gasser for sometime and have been looking at a kenmore for over a year now but I needed something portable to bring to our house site while we are building it. So I bought the baby q today.

I had been looking at it at home depot for $149 and was debating whether to just spend a little more for the full size q but the sears flyer came in today and the wife spotted the baby q on sale for $129 so that settled it. Well then I remembered that home depot does a price match plus 10% so I grabbed the flyer and headed to home depot which is 30 minutes closer than sears.

Anyway the sale at sears doesn't start until the 30th so the associate said that they would match it when the sale started. Well I batted those baby blues and flashed those pearly whites and she grabbed the phone and asked the manager and he said no problem. So out the door I went with my baby q for $123.90 :)

Heading to the house site to break it in tonight so I'll post some pics.

Oh yeah, those baby blues and pearly whites were my 3 yr old son's. the ladies can't resist the little bugger. ;)

*edit* he even got a balloon out of the deal so all is right in the world :) *

You'll like the baby Q, Deuce.

Only thing you can't do is cook indirect, but...

If you get a small cooling rack, like is used for baking, etc., and once you sear whatever it is you're cooking, you can put the cooling rack on the grate, put the meat on the rack, and get a small cushion of air between the grate and the meat.

What you're gonna like best about the babyQ is the grill marks. Man, does that sucker sear!

I found a 5-1/2 lb propane tank for mine. The weber extension hose fits right on and it's still super portable. With the tank you can adjust the flames even lower than with the little disposable tanks.

Hope you enjoy it.

Well the results are in and although at first I was worried about the heat it performed very well. I guess we'll keep him.... :) Here is a pic of the baby and one of the little bugger.
