I just purchased a new rotisserie spit rod from a company called EZ-Que. This is a whole different concept in rotiss'ing. This is a cradle assembly as opposed to a big skewer like most spits. There are two adjustable "hands" that hold the meat in the cradle. It's all 304 stainless steel and looks like it will last a lifetime.

I talked with a guy named John at the company and he was very friendly and helpful.

They have all kinds of different rotisserie products to fit almost any grill. Even have one called the Hobo that will runs on batteries (don't be fooled, it's very heavy-duty) and is a sort of "stand-alone" unit for camping or picnics.

Check it out: www.ezqueinc.com

Oh yeah... I'm not associated with this company, just a happy customer.

I'm interested to see how you like this thing and how well it performs. Good find!

I haven't used it yet, Deuce, but I don't see how I couldn't like it.

Did Ribs and Butts last night... mmmm... Got the butts in the cooler right now, waiting for dinner. 18 hours on the WSM for the butts. Injected them with an apple juice mixture... foiled 'em when they were done. Can' wait to open that foil... :)

I used my EZ-Que and was quite pleased. I did a pork loin that I had marinated in Mojo, butterflied and stuffed with mozzarella, prosciutto, and fresh spinach. Came out so gooood...

Anyway, I decided to upgrade my EZ-Que cradle to their Hobo model:

I placed an order for the Hobo without the cradle, since I already had that. They shipped it out and it got here yesterday. When I got it home and put it together, it was way too short to fit the cradle I had. I double checked to be sure the cradle for the Hobo was the same size as what I had. It was.

So I wrote to the company and explained my confusion. They called me immediately and explained that they had shipped the wrong Hobo frame. They had actually shipped me a special order they had made for a Jenn-Air setup.

They are shipping me the correct frame, and in addition, they said they'd ship an entire Hobo unit, including another cradle.

I love it when a company has great customer service. These guys are great. www.ez-que.com

hehe... well, the glass can be half empty or half full.

If I was REALLY lucky, then my original Cradle would have been the 8" model and then I'd have both! :)
