Cedar Plank Salmon
Baked on a cedar plank, this native recipe is steeped in flavor and aroma (especially while BBQ'ng). The plank should be slightly larger than the fillet.

salmon fillet about 1 1/2 lbs
1/4 cup olive oil
1 lemon, juice and zest
1 Tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1/2 tsp salt
1 Teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Marinate the salmon in the ingredients while soaking the weighted plank in water for two hours. Place the salmon directly onto the plank and onto the grill. Close the BBQ and cook for 20 minutes on medium high.

Gonna start with grilled pizza portabella's (I'm working on the recipe for those) as appetizers and then the cedar plank salmon. I can't wait. I'll take pic's and let you know how it turns out.

Please do take those pics! I would love to see the process!

I've been thinking about buying the cedar plank for Salmon. My wife loves seafood, but I'm not a big fan. So I might buy one and give it a shot!

I can't wait to see how yours turns out!

I didn't have to buy the cedar as I have a bunch in the garage that I am making adirondack chairs out of so I'll just cut a piece to size. :)

Well I couldn't grill the salmon last friday because there wasn't any salmon fillets in the area. I am going to hunt some down this friday and will let you know how it turns out.

No Salmon in New England? That is almost an oxymoron!
