Who here likes NASCAR, who's your favorite driver and who's gonna win the Daytona 500?
I love NASCAR, Rusty Wallace is my favorite driver and is gonna win the Daytona 500!

Jr. is the MAN!!!! Rusty is a punk.....I cannot wait to get he and Mark (78 year old) Martin out of racing....I do not know if Jr. has the car to win it this year.......I would bet on Johnson or Gordon. Just so we are clear....I do not like anyone but Dale Jr.........I pull a little for Waltrip..........
Original Sr. fan........a moment of silence please.

Well after this year, I am switching to Joe Gibbs racing! The "Bad Boy" of racing, Tony Stewart! In the mean time, I will stick with Rusty!

Do you know what NASCAR stands for?
No
Action
Shitty
Cryin
Ass
Rusty
He is a bum. Cannot get along with Jeremy Mayfield....cannot get along with Ryan Newman.......plain jealousy...........I remember him whining about Jeff Gordon and how Jeffy got a better ride coming into NASCAR and did not have to pay his dues.......shut up and drive!!!!! OOOhhhh..Jeff bumped me out of the way at Bristol....that's not fair.........looking forward to '06....NO RUSTY!!!!
I brought this over from the "Beer" thread ~ Rollo T, I hope you don't mind.
Rollo hit it on the head! Rusty's a whiner ~ Always has been.....A hasbeen!! LOL! Now, we just have to get rid of Tony Stewart. He only hurts the Joe Gibbs and Home Depot Names!! And after today's 2nd Duel, Kevin Harvick needs to find another place to race too! BTW, I was an Adam Petty fan and now follow Dale Jr.

How in the hell does Tony Stewart hurt Joe Gibbs or Home Depot??? By winning?? So what he pushes a car or two out of his way! That's part of racing!
Obviously neither of you like Rusty, but if everyone like the same driver it would be boring, right? I still enjoy drinking his sponser!

It's a car race , not a demolition derby. Pushing (or knocking) a car or 2 out of the way per race equates to just that and that's what hurts Joe Gibbs, Home Depot and NASCAR. Just my opinion, of course. :D

Here is MY opinion on this:
If I want to watch cars just drive around in circles I would find my nearest roundabout and watch the folks on it drive round and round. If I want excitement I wanna see cars FIGHTING for the lead. you ain't gonna have that happen if there isn't any a little nudging and rubbing. NASCAR must agree. I mean why else would they demand restricter plates on certain tracks and have variuos rules on the amount of downdraft horsepower..etc etc etc. It's called RACING and it's meant to be dynamic.
Now you can take that for what it's worth and that is exactly $.02 and it's all MINE LOL

Ghost of Winter (http://www.speedracer.com/) LOL!! I loved that cartoon way back when. Now don't get me wrong, I love a good race but taking someone out that's in front of you and in a vulneral position is just plain wrong! Let's be fair about it.....

If they are in front of you and you can get close enough to ram into them, they are in your way and preventing you from advancing in the race. So Tony and the majority of the other drivers way of thinking is this, "you either move out of my way, or I'll move you". Simple as that! If you don't think the other driver would do the same thing if they were in the same position as Tony? Give me a break, nice guys finish last!
BTW, if Tony Stewart is hurting Joe Gibbs racing, then how in the world does Joe have Home Depot, Interstate Batteries and FedEx for sponsors? Obviously if JGR was a risk those Major Corporations would not invest their millions of dollars into a risky race team!

It’s not that often that the lead car can just pull away from the pack since he’s breaking the wind. It happens but not that often. So in most cases, the lead car is going to be slower than the cars following. This is especially true with restrictor plate racing. Now, nudging someone to loosen them so you can pass them is one thing ~ Taking them out is another.
In the above post, I clearly said that it was my opinion as is this post. Lighten up, Larry. :)

I knew I liked this site....
Look, being a Sr. fan, it would be hypocritical of me to say rough racing is not acceptable. I have no problem with T. Stewarts tactics ON the track. Harvick is another story...he does stupid things (reference yesterday) with very bad timing and is kind of an asshole with a bad temper. My problem with Stewart is how he acts in general. When Earnhardt "bumped" people he got under their skin and called it a "racin' deal" and moved on. He also helped those same guys make races (Dave Marcis), prolong careers (Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip) and countless things he did for others off the track. Point being, he treated people with respect. Can you say the same for Stewart....he pushes photographers, yells at his own team, puts Gibbs in compromising positions and goes after people continuously ON and OFF the track when he gets pissed off or if things do not go his way. Plain and simple, he is whiny little boy with too much money and a bad attitude. He thinks of nobody but himself and when he is smiling for the cameras, it is obvious it is fake. He is a joke and a problem. Talented...yes...humble and decent....not even close. Same goes for Harvick except he does not have the ability to take responsibility for anything. I love Childress but Harvick is a stain. He is living off his rookie year and has done little since. His attitude may be worse than Stewarts.
Whether or not either of these guys makes money for their sponsors does not relieve the fact they don't respect others and there is no excuse for that. Harvick fell under a lucky star to be where he is at and he does not seem to appreciate it. There is a big responsibility filling Dale Earnhardts shoes and they are obviously too big for his feet.
It is a sad day when I find myself rooting for Jeff Gordon to beat Tony Stewart at the end of a race..........
Out.

What in the hell am I supposed to lighten up about Bill?? You voiced your opinions and I did the same. No big deal! Glad you're not behind the wheel of a car right now! Might want to look into an anger management class. ;)

Some people think NASCAR is a religion!

It isn't??
You mean the holy trinity is not Richard Petty, Earnhart Sr., and Darryl Waltrip? (Earnhart Sr. would have to be the Holy Ghost)
I'm aghast!

Not huge into Nascar but I'll watch the big races.
I've meet Rusty Wallace twice. The Wallace family is from St. Louis, and his first house is now my best friend's house. Rusty actually got a pool table as a wedding gift, and when they moved out of this house, they didn't want to bother with it (no sentimental value, I guess). Anyway, there is a plaque on this pool table saying Congrats to Rusty and (whatever his wife's name is, I forgot...) Apparently Rusty wants the house back now that he's going into retirement and he's offering way more than the house is worth.
I also meet Rusty and his brother Kenny at a Cardinals game. Kenny was trashed and hilarious. Rusty wasn't drinking, I guess he didn't want to search for the one beer booth in Busch Stadium that sells Miller Lite!!

Please....no more "feel good" Rusty banter.........the sooner he is out of racing, the better the sport will become. He is a "never-was" and alienates everyone on his team. I am done with this topic. No restrictor plate wins, no Brickyard, and I could go on and on....bottom line: Since NASCAR is cutting back on short tracks, he is quitting....because he cannot win anywhere else.
Peace.
