I've been on the South Beach Diet for awhile now and have been using Splenda instead of sugar in everything so far except my rubs. Has anyone substituted Splenda for sugar in their rubs? If so, how was the final product?

Splenda works ok in rubs... but I find another product works much better. It's called WheyLow, a sugar substitute developed by a Chemical Engineer whose wife contracted Diabetes.
They also make a brown sugar substitute.

I use turbinado sugar which I get at wally world under the name "sugar in the raw".

I love turbinado sugar, I mix it with 2 parts Montreal Steak Seasoning to 1 part T. Sugar for my Chuck Roasts! It's awesome! I'm thinking of trying it on some steaks this weekend!
