OK, so everyone has their own favorite burger recipe right? (Add an extra egg to get the concoction to stick together a little better; you'll find out why shortly...)
Start with that, but instead of making bigass patties, make them the same diameter, but about half as thick as you normally would.
Here's where it gets fun. Add a small amount of your favorite type of cheese (grated) to the top of the patties, top that with whatever condiments you'd normally have on your burger (small amounts). Keep it all in the middle of the patty. Take another thin patty and put it on top, squeezing the edges of the two patties together to keep the good stuff inside.
When cooking these, I usually reduce the heat a little let them sit a while longer that I would with a regular burger. I crank the heat towards the end to sear them a bit, just before I take them off the grill.
Try them with lightly grilled buns/lettuce/tomato, can't go wrong!
