Hello Everyone
I was wondering is this rub very hot ? My wife hates real spicy food. Most of the simple home rubs I've found on the net I had to back off the pepper to get it to her liking. She likes sweeter rubs with out any heat or very LITTLE.
Thanks for your help
Jeff

Jeff,
The Texas BBQ Rub comes in two flavors. #1 or the Original is sweet and not spicy hot. #2 or Brisket Blend is not as sweet as #1 but it is a little spicier. I wouldn't say that the #2 is real spicy, but more so than the #1.
You'd be real safe with #1, and you might just ask Bill (Bill Cannon of TexasBBQRub.com) to include a sample of the #2 with your order.
Get a pair of his BBQ Gloves if you handle meat on the grill or smoker. Neopreme and insulated. Good price too.

Thanks a lot StPete
I ordered the rub but i didn't see a selection for #1 or 2 so i asked for it in the comment box. I also got some of the texas magic and a set of gloves.Figured I might as well try it all.
I'll let you know what the boss thinks.

Jeff,
Sweet talk Sharky for some of his sweet rub. Based on what you have said your wife will love it.

Well I haven't tried any of the #1 rub I ordered but I can tell you that the Texas Grilling Magic is a bit spicy. I have cooked some veggies using it and also used it on some popcorn. Good stuff it is.

Yeah, I've got some of Sharky's Rub and it is good. I tried it on some chicken just yesterday. It would also be good on pork.

Went as-is for the first try. I'll probably add some chili powder next time.

Glad to hear it. It adds a nice base for baby backs if yuo use a spicy sauce. it offsets really well!
