Last summer I was at Home Depot buying paint and I spotted a cart full of Thermos Grill-2-Go grills http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-1023105-3197452?asin=B00005B6ZB. I saw people picking them up one after another. I walked up and they were on clearance for $88. I grabbed the second to last one!
This grill has been a great addition to the tailgate paraphenalia! We aren't allowed to use charcoal grills anymore outside of our stadium (Penn State).
The grill packs easily, but the only drawback is it slides around a bit in my truck. I bungee it to the side now. The lid locks down which is nice. The grill uses the portable camping canisters and can be converted for full size propane tanks. I chose to stick with the little ones. I don't feel like lugging a full size tank. If you were doing some major grilling you would want a full size grill anyway. The cooking surface is much like a large George Forman grill. It takes some getting used to but works well. The grease runs off into a holding tank which you can empty later. One side of the grill is grated while the other is flat. The flat side is nice for cooking breakfast. I haven't had the grill camping yet but it would be perfect.
The new ones are call Fire and Ice and include a cooler underneath and wheels. These look awesome and it looks like they would add a bit more stability to the grill. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2069416&cat=136114&type=1&dept=5428&path=0%3A5428%3A136114
