Did you Grill or BBQ this weekend?

I spent BOTH Saturday and Sunday learning how to use a smoker! Yes, you heard it right, a smoker!

Saturday, we were cooking 3 racks of racks of ribs until 1am! We started a little late (6pm) and it took longer than expected. We created our own unique rub, which , actually turned out great!

Today, we cooked another 3 racks of racks of ribs, each with a different rub or sauce. One dry, one wet, and one totally off the wall island flavor rack!

Believe it or not, the island rack (which my wife had the idea for) was AMAZING!

Both nights we smoked them for at least 4 hours, and finished them on the grill for about 30 minutes!

I dind't get any pictures (It was raining pretty bad, or was too dark!)

All in all, it was a very successful weekend. I enjoyed using the smoker, but realize grilling is still my favorite!

Got myself a Weber Bullet about a month ago! Awesome is all I can say. My first smoke were BB ribs which my spousal unit couldn't get enough of. I followed that up with pork butts for pulled pork. Another success!

With the Weber platinum and Bullet, what else could a man want. (well, maybe some meat to cook)

if anyones interested, theres a great site on the WSM
http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/

It has all the info you need for smoking and grilling, whether you own a Weber bullet or not!

I have to secnnd that recommendation from TomP. That website has the best information on smoking with the WSM anywhere. And the folks are all so helpful...

Also, what else does a man need other than a Weber Platinum and a WSM? You all already know what I think of my WSM. :D

haha!
Like I told you before, I enjoy direct heat and the flavor much mroe than the smoke flavor. Although I do enjoy smoked foods every now and then!

You should have tasted the ribs we cooked/smoked last weekend! Unbelievable!

I smoked BB ribs on the WSM for my father in law Sunday. I also threw on 2 lbs of homemade sausage and smoked that for about 2-1/2 hrs and then finished off on the platinum! Cooked corn on the cob and baked potatos also. It was an excelent dinner!
