Summer drink recipes

Here are a few of my favorite summer drink recipes. Feel free to post yours as well!


Mai tai:

Rocks Glass with ice

Add 1 ounce light rum
1/2 ounce triple sec
1/2 ounce creme de almond
half-fill with sweet and sour mix
half fill with pineapple juice
Float Myers's Original Dark Rum


Pina Colada

Rocks Glass

ina blender, place:
Ice
1.5 oz rum
Splash of Kahlua
Splash of half and half
1oz coconut milk
2oz pineapple juice
Blend. it comes out as rich as a milk shake
Float Myers's Original dark rum after blending

Garnish with pineapple slice


Margarita

Rocks glass with salted rim.

ina shaker with ice, place

1oz tequila
1oz Cointreau
Juice of 1/2 lime
splash of sweet and sour mix

Shake well (until hand freezes to metal shaker) and pour into glass. Garnish with a slice of lime


Tequila Sunrise

Collins glass with ice

Add 1oz tequila
Fill glass with orange juice
Top with Grenadine

stir gently; garnish with orange slice

My Favorite Summertime Beverage


Lynchburg Lemonade

1 part Jack Daniel’s

1 part triple sec

1 part sour mix


Stir all ingredients with 4 parts lemon-lime soda. Garnish with a lemon slice and cherries.

Well, summer's pretty much over, but...

Mojito

Mint to taste
1/2 lime
3 Tablespoons super fine sugar
Club soda
1-3 oz. White Rum

Muddle mint, lime (in wedges) and sugar in a glass. Remove lime wedges if desired. Add ice and then fill with club soda leaving room for the rum. You can put quite a bit of rum in this drink before it gets too strong so be careful.

Enjoy! This is one of my favorite drinks of all time and I drink them all year round but they are especially good in summer. In winter they remind me of past trips to the Caribbean.
