Ok I can already hear the gasps & groans, but hey guys, I live up in the frozen north of WI and it was -15 below yesterday so freezing my giblets off isn't a
"fun" session of BBQ !
I am interested in opinions of the small quality electric Bradley or ? smokers for doing my BBQ in the dead zone of winter... going 3 months without brisket is NOT an option ! I only need to do about 15 lbs. at a time in the winter.
Thanks !

Duke...

A few months back I bought a Cookshack Smokette electric smoker. Sometimes ya just don't feel like starting a fire or messing with one. So I picked up this smoker for times like that. It sits outside on my back porch (I got the cover with it) and it is very handy.

Works well, too. One thing with an electric smoker: you don't get the smoke ring you're used to with charcoal or wood fired smokers. The Cookshack smokers use regular wood chunks, and they say if you put a couple of pieces of charcoal, you'll get the smoke ring. Haven't tested that yet. Actually the smoke ring doesn't affect the taste of the BBQ.

One word of caution: If you look at the Smokette, the smoker is on the small side. There are 3 shelves roughly 14 x 14. Too small for a full rack of ribs unless you cut them in half. You can cook 3 racks of ribs at a time, or 5 racks if you get the optional 5 shelf brackets. You can also do 2 butts or two small brisket flats at a time.

They make larger models that will handle more meat.

Check them out at Cookshack.com. They have a pretty good forum too.

Bradley makes a good smoker too, but they are usually used more for cold smoking.

I don't think you'll be unhappy, Duke, and if you are, they have a money back guarantee - no questions asked.

They ain't cheap, but they're a quality American Made product.

Eagerly awaiting the new Cookshack here, should be in soon.
Do you use a water pan to add moisture to yours ???

nope, no water pan needed. It makes some pretty moist 'Que...

I was amazed at the simplicity and ease of use. So convenient. You decide you want ribs, you rub 'em and put 'em on... no waiting for coming up to temp or nothin'. sweet addition to my smoking arsenal...

Thanks StPeteBBQ for the reply.
Great, won't have to worry about the pan going empty then.
Hopefully soon I will have it and be eating brisket !
Thanks,
Duke
