OK, so I am cheap!
Actually, with the economy the way it is (and my daughter going to private school!) I've been trying to stretch my dollar as far as I can lately.
:o
Last night I grilled up frozen chicken wings (about 20-25 of them) a can of baked beans, and a can of green peas. It was a great meal, and it cost right at about $10. It fed 3 of us, with some beans and peas left over.
Has anyone else tried this? Do you have any ideas?
Now, don't get me wrong here. I want to do this so I can still splurge on steak and ribs a few times a month! :mouthwate

Pasta & sauce with salad & garlic bread.
Hot dogs w/ mac & cheese
Burgers w/macaroni salad and baked beans
steak um sandwiches w/ french fries
These are just a few of our "cheap meals".
If you're doing the low carb thing then it get's a little harder.
We do a skillet chicken meal which is:
boneless/skinless chicken breast
1 can stewed tomatoes
mushrooms
garlic
veggies - fresh, frozen or canned(zuccini, squash, peas, green beans, etc)
Cut the chicken into bite size pieces and saute with the mushrooms, fresh/frozen veggies and garlic. Once cooked add in the stewed tomatoes, canned veggies and any other seasonings you want.
Simmer for 15 minutes and you have a meal.
Most of these ideas can be done on a grill or grill burner.
We keep the grocery bill down in the warmer months by having a vegetable garden. Our lettuce can be picked everyday now and the rest of the garden is coming along nicely.

It isn't on the grill, but if you'll get a package of Macaroni & Cheese (the cheaper, the better - it don't matter) and cook the macaroni according to the package. Drain in a colander, put it back in the pan you cooked it in and mix in 1 tsp of butter.
Brown one and a half pounds of hamburger (or ground turkey or chicken) along with whatever appeals to you, like onion, green peppers, garlic, etc.
When the ground meat is done, drain off the fat, then dump the cooked macaroni in with it and mix it up good. Then take the packet of cheese mix (FrankenCheese) and sprinkle it over everything and stir it again.
Sort of Hamburger Helper for $.29 instead of $1.69.
Also, since you like peas...
Drain a can of peas (as large or small as you like). Dump them in a mixing bowl. Add some mayo or Miracle Whip to them. Dice up some Velveeta and mix it all together. Chill it. Pea Salad! The amounts of mayo and cheese is up to you.
