Vinegar-Based Barbecue Sauce

1 (1-1/4 oz.) can black pepper
1 (1-1/4 oz.) can red pepper
2 qts. white vinegar
2 T. sugar
1/2 C. salt
1/4 C. lemon juice
1 small bottle catsup

Boil first six ingredients for 8 minutes, then add catsup. Boil for 2 more minutes.

I usually use Apple Cider vinegar in my sauce, it brings a little nicer flavor, but this sounds like a good basic "Sweet -n- Sour" BBQ sauce.

Apple cider vinegar is good also... This is the only one I've found that called for white vinegar, in fact. Nice change of pace.
