What do you use to clean your grill? Not the grates, but inside the guts of the grill?

grill cleaner in the bottle . pick it up at any home improvement place i usaully get 3-5 cleanings per bottle/ So 1 bottle a year works for me. I also use a hard plastic bristle brush like you use for car mags but stiffer. Keep my weber spotless.

My gasser has, from top to bottom:

1. grates
2. burner covers
3. burners
4. fixed drip plate
5. removable slide-out drip plate (with hole)
6. removable drip pan

Every time use I use the grill I'll empty the drip pan and brush the grates. I use a metal wired long handled brush either when the grate is cold or when hot.

Every so often I'll remove and rinse the slide-out drip plate.

Less frequently I will hose it all down with a strong stream of water. This helps clean the burner covers and fixed drip pan. Sometimes the fix drip pan will catch fire while preheating. I just let it burn itself out. Rinsing removes the ash.

I almost never clean the interior walls or lid other than rinsing.

I don't clean the outsite other than rinsing.

I try to make sure the grease does not overflow, does not cause sustained flareups, or burn out of control by timely applications of dumping out, rinsing, burn offs, and brushing.

I use a plastic (disposable) putty knife for the gasser grill & both smokers. That way I don't have to clean the clean-up tools!
